Modern football originated in England. Legend has it that there was a war between England and Denmark in the 11th century. By the early 19th century, football was very popular in some countries in Europe and Latin America, especially in capitalist Britain.

In 1848, the first written rule of football, the Cambridge Rules, was born. The so-called "Cambridge rules", that is, in the early 19th century, London, Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom during the game between some rules. There were 11 players in each team. Because there were ten students and one teacher living in each dormitory in the school at that time, they had a dormitory-to-dormitory match with 11 people on each side. The current 11-person football match started at that time.

In 1862, the world's first football club was established in Nottinghamshire, England. The first football association (FA) was established in England and the rules of football were unified. People call this day the birth day of modern football. There are 14 football rules formulated this time, which is the basis of today's football rules. Since the second Olympic Games in 1900, football has been listed as an official Olympic event, but it does not allow professional athletes to participate. On May 21, 1904, FIFA was established in Paris. In 1904, the seven national football associations of Britain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland established the International Football Federation in France. Since 1930, the World Football Championship (also known as the World Cup) has been held every four years, and the restrictions on professional athletes have been lifted.
